Dear
Friends,
It
is comforting to know that though we live in perilous times, as those
described in II Timothy 3:1-3, we have a savior in the Person of
Jesus Christ, The Son of The Living God. In the prophet Isaiah's
invitation to abundant life [Isaiah 55:6-7] He exhorts us to (vs.
6) "Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he
is near. (vs. 7) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the
unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and he will
have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly
pardon."
To
seek after God is to resort to God or to go in
search of God or try to acquire God. Not
only should we seek God, but we should seek Him first. [Matthew
6:33] "Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you."
We
must seek the Lord while He may be found. This
implies that there may be a time when we seek Him and not find
Him. Call upon Him while He is near. [Romans
10:8] "The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your
heart." Salvation and forgiveness is as near as your
mouth and your heart. [Romans 10:9] "If you
confess with your mouth The Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that
God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. Let the
wicked forsake his ways." Without the saving Grace of
Jesus Christ we are wicked and without any means of saving
ourselves. [Isaiah 64:6] "We are all like an unclean
things, and all our righteousness are like filthy rags. And
the unrighteous man his thoughts. Thoughts
bring about actions . . . which lead to habits . . . which
determine character . . . which controls destiny.
[Philippians 4:8] "Finally, Brethern, whatever
things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue,
if there is anything praiseworthy . . . think on these
things."
Let
him return to the Lord and he will have mercy on him, and our God, He
will abundantly pardon. [Psalm 103:11-12] (vs. 11)
"For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His
mercy toward those who fear Him." (vs. 12) "As far as
the east is from the west, so has he removed our transgressions from
us." Yes, beloved, this is the time to seek, find, and
know the Living God . . . which came in the person of Jesus Christ, our
Savior, acts as advocate, and shall return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Yes, we
should seek the Lord while he may be found.
Love,
Minister
